How To Make Salmon Meatballs?

Ingredients

Salmon is a star ingredient that is an excellent source of nutrients. You can use Fresh or canned salmon.

  1. Breadcrumbs/ Cornstarch: Breadcrumbs are a binding agent. They help to hold them in a nice texture.
  2. Egg: It binds the ingredients together, and It also adds moisture and richness.
  3. Onion/Garlic: it adds Flavor and texture. It also contains anti-inflammatory compounds that are helpful for health.
  4. Parsley is an herb that adds Flavor and freshness to the meatballs.
  5. Salt and pepper: Salt and pepper enhance the Flavor.
  6. Oil: oil is for frying. It is good to use canola oil for browning the salmon.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. (you can bake or fry these Salmon meatballs; your choice, but I love the fried one better)
  2. Place shredded leftover salmon in a medium-sized bowl. Add carrots, Garlic, parsley, cilantro, panko bread/cornstarch, and mix.
  3. Add Beaten egg and continue mixing until completely incorporated.
  4. Add salt and pepper, depending on your liking.
  5. Form salmon into a ball.
  6. Heat oil in a medium size frying pan and brown all sides of the Salmon Meatballs. (Stop here if you are frying).
  7. Cover the cookie sheet with tin foil and grease with non-stick oil if you want to bake or air fry.
  8. Arrange salmon meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 15-30 minutes or until the salmon is set.
  9. Serve salmon meatballs with ketchup or any sauce that you like. My clan like non-fat dressing. Enjoy

Expert Tips

  • Choose high-quality salmon fillets to ensure your meatballs are flavorful and moist.
  • Never forget to add breadcrumbs and eggs to combine the ingredients.
  • Don’t overmix. Overmixing can cause tough and dry meatballs.
  • It is good to divide into equal portions, so use a tablespoon or cookie scoop.
  • Keep meatballs in the fridge for stable shapes.
  • You can either pan-fry the meatballs in a little oil or bake them in the oven.
  • If you want a crispy exterior, use the pan for frying.
  • Bake them for tenderness.

How Can We Store Meatballs?

Depending on how long you keep them, there are a few ways to store them. If you plan to eat them within a few days, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for four days. But please ensure that the balls are completely cooled at room temperature. However, if you want to store them longer, freeze them. Use an airtight container or bag and remove air as much as possible before sealing. You can freeze for up to 3 months.
