Prologue
Sophie POV (Third Person Though)
Sophie was sitting on a carpet of blossoms under Carla’s Panakes, the unusual silence surrounding her. She stared out across the grounds, gazing fondly at her home.
Suddenly, the silence was broken as her imparter buzzed. She glanced at the screen, then, sitting up a bit straighter, answered the call. A man with pointed ears stared up at her from the screen.
“Bronte,” Sophie sighed, “What can I do for you?”
“Firstly, it’s Councilor Bronte to you,” The man replied, a stern look covering his face. “And secondly, the Council has summoned you, Mr Sencen, Mr Diznee, Ms Redek, Mr and Ms Vacker, and Mr and Ms Song to Eternalia. The others have already been notified, please meet us here as soon as possible.” Sophie opened her mouth to ask a question, but Bronte cut her off. “And as for your question, it is the children, not their parents, who will be joining you here.”
With that, the call cut off, leaving a slightly confused Sophie staring at the blank screen for 10 seconds, before jumping to her feet and hurrying inside to get ready for the meeting.

Sophie walked through the doors into the main hall, lowering her head to the Councilors seated before her before making her way to sit beside her friends.
“Finally,” someone said, “Lady Fosboss has arrived and we can start.”
“I’m not that late, Keefe,” Sophie replied, a mock pout on her face.
“Hmmm, debatable, Foster,” Keefe smiled, “But you're here now, that’s what matters. The suspense has been killing me.”
“Oh shut it, drama king,” this time it was Tam who spoke. “The longer the two of you are talking for, the longer we have to wait.”
“It’s Lord Hunkyhair to you, Bangs Boy-”
“Shush you guys, I want to hear why we're here,” Biana scolded. Sophie blushed as Bianas' teal eyes met hers.
“Sorry, sorry, we’ll shush now,” Sophie stated, elbowing both Tam and Keefe.
“No need to apologize. (A/N APOLLOgize. Sorry I couldn’t help it.) Now that you’re here, we can begin.” Terik spoke, pausing before continuing, “The Council has found...footage, depicting a supposed human, wielding and controlling flames.”
After the statement, silence was all that could be heard. The sudden tension that filled the space was suffocating, and Sophie longed to break through it.
“Are-are you sure the footage hasn’t been tampered with, o-or faked in any way?” Sophie knew that the thought was unrealistic, if the Council had summoned them then they must know that the footage was real.
“As far as we are aware, Miss Foster, the footage is completely real. We have also found other footage like this, usually depicting this boy, but sometimes depicting others.”
“What do you want us to do?” Keefe’s voice cut through the air, voicing the question that had been laying heavy on Sophie’s mind.
“We wish for you to travel to the Forbidden Cities to retrieve the boy, known as Leo Valdez, and bring him here. We believe him to be a pyrokinetic, and that some of his friends also hold abilities.”
“So, long story short, you want us to travel to the Forbidden Cities and collect some Elves that don’t know that they’re Elves,” Biana’s statement cleared the whirlwind of thoughts in Sophie’s head, hearing it summed up like that made it seem easy.
“Yes,” this time it was Oralie speaking. “However, the boy, Leo Valdez, and the people we suspect to also be Elves have not been seen for a few weeks. But this is not a setback, there is another boy, Perseus Jackson, who we think could also be an Elf, who is friends with Leo. If you get him instead then he will be able to lead us to the Pyokinetic.”
“So, you think that Leo is an unregistered pyro?” Marella questioned, her voice lace with a sound of hope that she tried, and failed to hide.
“Yes,” Liora’s answer was short and simple, but by the look on Marella’s face, it meant the world to her. “We also have some images of the children for you to view before you leave,” Liora continued, pointing to a file on the table in front of Sophie, who picked it up and started looking through it with the others. “The ones registered as ‘Talentless’ might actually have a Talent. However we have no record of them displaying them.” (A/N- pretend there are pictures with it. The file contents are below and chapter continues after them)

Sophie’s mind was a whirlwind of thoughts as she scanned the images before her. The last one, with seven of them together, caught her eye. Two of the kids held weapons, while another appeared to be leaning on the hilt of a sword. But what she was drawn to the most was the boy on the very right. His arm seemed to be covered in fur, with long claws where his nails should be.
Sophie shook off the thought. Humans had weird costumes they liked to wear, the boy probably had some sort of glove on. Yes, that had to be it, it explained why one of the boys appeared to be wearing armor, and why others grasped weapons. But still, Sophie couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more to these kids than met the eye. Sophie looked up from the file, her eyes meeting soft blue ones.
“So what do you say Foster,” Keefe smirked, “Fancy a trip to the forbidden cities?”
